Our training programs are designed to improve your overall health. With the advent of corporate culture, people are leading sedentary lives, without caring for their health or fitness. Running is the core of our fitness training program. Running has several health benefits. Our training programs are designed to improve your overall health. Whether you train for the marathon or for fitness, we categorize your training in various levels. While the training exercises and runs remain the same for all programs, the intensity level varies.



FITNESS TRAINING

At Striders, we offer training programs specific to each individual’s capabilities. Every individual undergoes a build-up stage and his/her fitness levels are determined. We then hold discussions to understand each person’s capabilities and their training purposes. Based on all these factors, we determine their workouts and fitness training programs.
Our fitness training programs are aimed to bring about a lifestyle change in the individual’s life. We help each individual to gauge and understand their true potential, and strive to transform them to their optimum fitness level.

MARATHON TRAINING

Marathon training is not just limited to one event; it’s a life-changing experience. Several of our individual clients, who joined our team to train for one marathon events, are now a part of Striders. Running brings about such a rejuvenating change in you that once you start running, you would find that you cannot stop.
We train enthusiasts for half marathon and full marathon. We train in groups outdoors in natural surroundings, providing you with the opportunity to connect with nature and to meet and associate with like-minded people.

KIDS TRAINING

Striders conduct kids athletics training programme. We at Striders aim at developing children talent in sports through this training and also aim to produce international level athletes and also work for the upliftment of Indian sports. Striders trains athletes who are representing the district at the state level competitions in athletics as well as in tennis, swimming etc.

Striders are corporate partners with TATA Consultancy Services (TCS), TATA Steel, Reliance Industries (Mumbai), Reliance Capital, Edelweiss, Evonik, National Stock Exchange (NSE), Ambit, IL&FS, Hiranandani, TATA Sons, Citi Bank, Cricket Club of India (CCI), Jolly Gymkhana for their employee’s engagement program. Our corporate training program helps to turn the sedentary lifestyles of employees to active lifestyles, which would make them fitter and healthier individuals.
In addition, such programs act as a stress-buster for the employees. It also promotes team building and team management.

The journey with Striders started on a recommendation by the veteran-most runner on Indian Marathon circuit Dr Ramani in February 2013. Since then, Striders training has now become a part of my DNA. One feels incomplete without the training sessions. It has helped me graduate from a rookie half marathoner to a matured ultramarathon runner. The systematic process of strengthening of different muscles of the body, core work-outs and then build-up of mileage towards the respective Big Day is what I like the most of Striders training. Apart from that, the camaraderie it builds – the friends it provides, going beyond your professional and personal circles, is the real icing on the cake!!!

I recommend Striders to one and all who would want to take up running as a serious hobby!!!

Getting older and overweight, I had tried many things to gain fitness but never stuck at them. In February 2015, I joined Striders at their Shivaji Park center as my wife Binaaz, persuaded me to do so. At that time I had already lost about 15 Kgs in weight and had done a couch to 7 Kms at the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon in January 2015. Between then and now in May 2018, I have completed 2 full marathons, several half marathons and hundreds of 10 Km runs.
Striders have played a pivotal role in my transformation as a recreational runner. Their training programs include a healthy combination of running mixed with strength, flexibility, agility and coordination drills. While their programs are tailored to one’s goals and capabilities, they primarily focus on the athlete remaining injury free thus ensuring that each runner is fit to toe the starting line of a long distance race. Strider coaches understand the “be“, “know“ and “do“ attributes of each runner and provide the much-needed guidance and intervention from time to time.
Striders is a group of over a 1000 runners across India. The amount of running experience within the group is perhaps the largest in the country. One draws several lessons, guidance and inspiration from experienced runner friends who are incredibly supportive and clearly want other people to enjoy running as much as they do. Through Striders, I have made lifelong friends who not only rejoice and celebrate my wins but also are empathetic and encouraging during the lows. And that camaraderie makes you go on and on, year after year. It makes you want to wake up at 4 in the morning, tie your shoelaces and hit the tar. I believe that is what keeps me fit!

Seven years ago when I joined Striders i had never thought what a life altering decision can be. Over the years not only has my fitness and endurance improved but so has the quality of life thanks to the wonderful friends I have made here. I started small, training for and running a couple of half marathons a year. After 3 years i graduated to full marathons and then to Comrades. Seven years of smooth injury free running with 3 Comrades in a row – speaks a lot about the training philosophy of Striders. Most of us join Striders to train for marathons and end up being part of the large Striders family. Striders and running is now an integral part of my life.
